  • Lay Teng Ang Receives the BCAN 2024 Bladder Cancer Career Development Award

    The Bladder Cancer Advocacy Network (BCAN) has awarded Stanford Urology Assistant Professor Lay Teng Ang, PhD, their 2024 Bladder Cancer Career Development Award (CDA), a prestigious three-year, $250,000 grant supporting early-career researchers in advancing innovative, independent bladder cancer research.

  • Jim Brooks, MD, and Carolyn Bertozzi, PhD, Awarded Stanford Cancer Institute’s (SCI) Innovation Grant for Prostate Cancer Research

    Jim Brooks, MD and Nobel Laureate Carolyn Bertozzi, PhD, have been awarded one of the Stanford Cancer Institute’s (SCI) Innovation Awards for March 2025. Their project, titled “PSMA-Targeted Sialidase for Prostate Cancer Immunotherapy,” aims to redefine prostate cancer treatment by employing advanced immunotherapy techniques.

  • Ekene Enemchukwu is the Editor of the Month for The Journal of Urology

    Stanford Urology’s own, Ekene Enemchukwu, MD, is the Editor of the Month for The Journal of Urology- the official journal of the American Urological Association. Dr. Enemchukwu’s academic journey began at a small high school in Mount Dora, Florida, and took her to Duke University and the University of North Carolina, where her interest in urology flourished.

  • Stanford Urology Hosts the 101st Clinical Society of GU Surgeons Conference

    From November 7–9, 2024, Stanford Urology proudly hosted the 101st annual meeting of the Clinical Society of Genitourinary Surgeons (CSGUS) at the Stanford School of Medicine. This gathering, hosted by Stanford Urology Chair Eila Skinner, MD, brought together over 40 current and former chairs of urology from leading institutions across the United States, many of whom were joined by their partners.

  • Welcoming Dr. Gregory Tasian as the first Linda Dairiki Shortliffe & Dairiki Family Endowed Lecturer in Urologic Science & Technology

    We were honored to welcome Dr. Gregory Tasian on November 19th as the first Linda Dairiki Shortliffe & Dairiki Family Endowed Lecturer in Urologic Science & Technology, and this year’s Pediatric Urology Visiting Professor. Dr. Tasian is a tenured Associate Professor of Surgery and Epidemiology at the University of Pennsylvania Perelman School of Medicine.

  • Successful WSAUA Campaign for Stanford Urology

    The Department of Urology at Stanford School of Medicine recently concluded a highly successful campaign at the 100th annual Western Section American Urological Association (WSAUA) conference, held in Kauai, Hawaii, from October 27 to November 1.
