Jill Buckley, MD, Visits Stanford as the 28th Dorothy Fenmore Visiting Professor
Jill Buckley, MD, a distinguished urologic reconstructive surgeon and Professor of Urology at UC San Diego, visited Stanford as the 28th Dorothy Fenmore Visiting Professor in Urology on January 30–31, 2025.
The Maxwell J. and Dorothy Fenmore Lectureship on Cancer Research, established in 1988 by the Fenmore family, annually invites leading experts in academic urology and cancer research to share their knowledge with the Stanford community. This year, across two days of surgical innovation and academic mentorship, Dr. Buckley engaged with faculty and trainees through multiple sessions, delivering insightful presentations and fostering meaningful discussions.
Dr. Buckley’s visit officially began on Thursday, January 30, 2025, with a Special Grand Rounds Seminar and a dinner discussion, where she presented “Robotic Ureteral Reconstruction: Tissue Transfer Techniques.” The following day, Friday, January 31, 2025, she participated in resident research presentations, and provided mentorship and feedback on innovative projects led by Stanford trainees. She then met individually with Drs. Jay Shah, Ekene Enemchukwu, Ben Chung, and Joseph Liao to discuss shared research interests and clinical advancements. Her visit concluded with the 28th Dorothy Fenmore Visiting Professorship Lecture, where she presented “Endoscopic and Robotic Management: Bladder Neck Contracture & Vesicourethral Anastomosis Stenosis.”

Prior to joining UC San Diego in 2013, Dr. Buckley served on the faculty at Lahey Hospital & Medical Center in Boston. A Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, she is an active member of the American Urological Association (AUA), the Society of Genitourinary Reconstructive Surgeons (GURS), and the Trauma and Urologic Reconstructive Network of Surgeons (TURNS). She has also served as Chair of the GURS Fellowship Committee.
Dr. Buckley’s visit upholds the mission of the Fenmore Lectureship, bringing world-renowned experts to Stanford to advance urologic knowledge and inspire the next generation of urologists.
