We are pleased to announce that the Department of Urology is recruiting a full-time basic science research faculty member committed to the development of a research program in the following fields: imaging science, image-guided therapy, biomedical engineering, and/or molecular, developmental, stem cell biology with relevance to urological cancer and benign urological diseases. This position is at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor level. The Department of Urology is committed to advancing the fundamental basic science of urological diseases and to translating these discoveries for improving human health care. Stanford University and the Department of Urology have made substantial commitments towards the expansion of the department’s research program, including new space at the Stanford Research Park.
Appointments will be in the University Tenure Line or Non-Tenure Line (Research). The predominant criterion for appointment in the University Tenure Line is a major commitment to research and teaching. The major criterion for appointment for faculty in the Non-Tenure Line (Research) is evidence of high-level performance as a researcher for whose special knowledge a programmatic need exists. Faculty rank and line will be determined by the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate.
Qualified candidates will have appropriate education and training backgrounds (e.g. Ph.D. and/or M.D., and postdoctoral fellowship) in relevant biological and engineering disciplines, and demonstrated potential or a proven track record of publications, and extramural funding. A history of successful collaboration with clinical colleagues is highly desired. The faculty will be expected to work closely with clinician colleagues in urology and related fields to formulate novel research directions and collaborations to advance urological sciences.

All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law. Stanford also welcomes applications from others who would bring additional dimensions to the University’s research, teaching and clinical missions.
Please submit your curriculum vitae and a candidate statement describing your clinical, teaching, and research activities and interests.
